Diley Road Project

The City of Pickerington, as a result of years of transportation and thoroughfare planning, is widening approximately 3.5 miles of the Diley Road corridor from two lanes to five lanes between State Route 256 and Busey Road, in Fairfield County, Ohio.  Project construction, currently estimated at $15 million and funded nearly 80% with Federal Surface Transportation grant funds, is anticipated to be complete in late 2009.  Major features of the project include:

•  Roadway widening to five lanes
•  Concrete curb and gutter, and storm sewers
•  10' wide Multi-Use Path, west side Diley
•  5' wide sidewalk, east side Diley
•  Traffic signal installations on Diley Road at Ling Road and Wright Road intersections
•  Street lighting at major intersections and subdivision entrance street
•  Bridge replacement
•  At-grade rail crossing improvements

The project has occurred in three phases:

•  Phase 1:  Engineering Design and Public Hearings
Phase 2:  Right-of-Way Acquisition and Private Utility Relocation
•  Phase 3:  Bidding and Construction
